Donghaksa is special because this is the first and the oldest existing temple to accept and function as an academic institute for female monks. About 150 monks are studying and practicing Buddhism in this beautiful temple. Every spring, many tourists pay a visit to look at the beautiful blossoms and the interesting histories. The temple hides its fascinating secrets in the cherry blossom tunnel and its ancient, elegant buildings.
